Travel Ball is finally here, and what is so great about having events is that it allows Phenom Hoops to find new talent that we have never seen. This past weekend at the Phenom Rise Showcase, several players earned our attention but one stood out on multiple occasions.
2027 6’5 Lusemo Macharia, a young prospect at Independence High School, garnered the attention of our scouts on multiple occasions, as he is a new name to jot down and monitor as he develops. In a limited viewing though, Macharia showed those flashes that clearly stand out with a young prospect. He has clear size and understands early on how to use it, he uses his length well to impact the game on the boards on both ends and can alter shots with his wingspan. Offensively, he shows good touch, strong activity, and displays the potential to be a real force in the paint and a double-double type prospect in the coming years.
It is just the start for this young man but with what we saw at the event, there is a lot of upside to his game and he should be one to check out more down the road.
