This past weekend was a great opportunity for Lady Phenom to check out some new talent, and there were plenty of names that captured our eyes and impressed us. One player who seemed to earn our attention at the event was 2027 Makayla Moore, who plays at Dorman High School and BBB Elite.

Moore flourished with her playmaking abilities on the floor, as she was able to take advantage of using her quickness and ability to create to make plays for herself and others.  Time after time, she was able to get inside the paint and penetrate the defense, create scoring opportunities for herself or others, and also find ways to draw fouls against her opponents. Moore put a lot of pressure on the defense, and applied that pressure on defense as well, flourishing as an on-ball defender.

She did an excellent job in scoring in a variety of ways, creating off the dribble, playing strong and finishing, and also being an effective option defensively at the event, as she is a player to keep an eye on more in the coming years.

What Was Said:

“2027 Makayla Moore (BBB Elite) is shining as a focal point. Breaking down defenders and touching the paint at a high volume, where she’s able to finish, draw fouls, and set up others. Scrappy defender. Displaying toughness, quickness, and terrific feel.”

“2027 Makayla Moore (BBB Elite / Dorman) quick, paint touch guard. Tremendous on-ball defender. Was able to create plays for herself & teammates. Excels getting downhill and finishing at the rim.”

“2027 Makayla Moore (BBB / Dorman HS) has led the way here in the semifinals. Quick, crafty playmaker who can create paint touches, collapse the defense, and both finish or find the open teammate. Has also hit multiple 3s.”
