Phenom Hoops hasn’t stopped with its coverage from this past weekend at the Phenom Hoop State Finale, as we have highlighted several big names that we have watched. But there were other prospects that we learned about, as they introduced themselves to our scouts. Here are a few new names that you may want to jot down and continue to watch this summer as they impressed this past weekend.

2027 6’3 MJ Gladden (Bout A Bucket)

What Was Said: “6’3” 2027 MJ Gladden (Bout A Bucket/Statesville) was impossible to contain this afternoon. Nonstop motor, intriguing physical tools, and good scoring touch from multiple levels. Flies around defensively and has flashed real handle and shooting prowess.”

2027 5’10 Tristan Gaddy (Upward Stars Carolinas)

What Was Said: “5’10” 2027 Tristan Gaddy (Upward Stars Carolinas/Myers Park) has done an excellent job of creating paint touches and making plays through traffic. Crafty guard with creative finishes and good playmaking instincts. High motor and high IQ as well.”

2027 Justin Guner (WTSA)

What Was Said: “2027 Justin Gunter (WTSA) has the ability to impact the game on both sides of the floor. Uses his length & athleticism well defensively. Excels getting downhill and finishing at the rim.”

2027 6’1 Whit Lamb (TSGHoops)

What Was Said: “6’1” 2027 Whit Lamb (TSGHoops/Laney) has a lot of intrigue to his game. Crafty combo guard with real playmaking craft and a projectable frame. Displays great use of fakes and pivots, creating a ton of advantages with them. Active defender as well.”

2027 6’5 Will Hall (Riptide)

What Was Said: “6’5 2027 Will Hall (Carolina Riptide) has his best days ahead of him. Long, athletic forward. Finishes at the rim. Runs the floor well. Gets out in transition. Capable of defending multiple positions.”

2028 Dorian Moore (CP3BA)

What Was Said: “2028 Dorian Moore (CP3BA) is making strides as a prospect. Causes problems for opponents with his length, athleticism, and involvement as a defender and rebounder. Excels in transition but showing the ability to create and hit jumpers.”

2026 Darius Whitner (SW15H Elite)

What Was Said: “2026 Darius Whitner (SW15H Elite) continues to flourish on the court. Had a big Day 1 and is showcasing his ability to play with pace, create, battle on both sides, and makes smart decisions on the court.”

2026 Zion McGee (Future Kings)

What Was Said: “2026 Zion McGee (Future Kings) is ridiculously physical and incredibly tough to contain, has the power and ball control to make moves through you if not already in prime position, long and chiseled with a great base for battling in the post.”

2026 Talan Staley (Upward Stars Columbia)

What Was Said: “5’11” 2026 Talan Staley (Upward Stars Columbia/Ridge View) brings so much value from either guard spot. Awesome defender with real length, instincts, and feel. Makes winning plays consistently, doesn’t let the ball stick, and is a quality playmaker.”
