Phenom High School Jamboree Team Preview
Calvary Day
Coach Joe Rybak
By Rick Lewis

Calvary Day finished with a 18-15 record in the 2016-17 season, not too shabby considering the toughness of their schedule. First of all, Calvary Day plays in the competitive NCISAA 2A classification. In addition to playing the likes of The Burlington School, Gaston Day, Carmel Christian; Calvary Day plays outside of the NCISAA 2A classification and played regional and national powers Greensboro Day and Wesleyan Christina. To make matters even more difficult, Calvary Day plays local and state public school powerhouses to the likes of West Forsyth and NW Guilford. In our opinion, Coach Joe Rybak has done a masterful job of building Calvary Day into a local power in its own right. You see, Calvary Day pulls from a small area and the majority of their players are all local.

The 2017-18 will be no difference. Calvary Day will play yet another tough and competitive schedule, but is one embraced by coach Joe Rybak. You see, coach Joe Rybak is building a nice foundation and his players are now being recruited by D1 and D2 schools. Calvary Day opens up the season playing in the Phenom High School Jamboree and we want to take a closer look at the players that will make an impact.
