It is that time of the year… time to crown a champion in what can only be recognized as the premier event to end the season for several of these teams.  The Hoop State Championship gives teams, players, and fans a chance to check out some of the top teams in the country from North Carolina, all competing for a state title!

The season has flown by but Phenom Hoops has one more elite event to go in crowning a state champion, as we preview the teams that will be in contention this year. 

Liberty Heights Varsity

Record: 32-3

Earlier, we previewed Liberty Heights National program but NO ONE should be looking past their varsity team either, as Coach Jones has this team playing at a high level and looking to make a ton of noise as well.  And they have proven themselves all year long, racking over 30+ wins which also included wins over The Rock School National, DME Academy, Concord Academy, Huntington Prep, Denver Prep, TSF, Miler School, Wayne Country Day, and several others.

When you talk about this program, they bring several experienced weapons to the court. But the two leaders of the team are the twins in 2022 Tajuan Simpkins and 2022 Takai Simpkins who both recently committed to Illinois State. They are two athletic guards that can fill it up and play well off each other, making plays for themselves and for others. 2022 Chas Stinson is another 6
