Greenfield’s own and Phenom Hoops alum Coby White has been playing at another level this season for the Chicago Bulls, and he is truly showing that he should be in the All-Star discussion sooner rather than later. On the season, White is averaging a career-high 19.4ppg, 4.7pg, and 5.2apg, while shooting 47 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three.

And those numbers are only increasing at this point in the season, as White is posting multiple 30+ points games and showing everyone his fill arsenal. White has been a proven scorer, no matter where he has been he has been able to flourish. Whether it was in high school when he was regarded as one of the best guards in the country, his time in Chapel Hill where he flourished in an up-tempo offense, or now with the Bulls, White is putting North Carolina on the map again and showing why he is one of the best young prospects in the game. And what is even better… is that he has only continued to put in the work, year after year and never settling.

Basketball fans around the world need to appreciate what this young man has been able to do over the years, proving himself time after time, and now he should be considered one of the best young players in the NBA.

What Was Said from Phenom Hoops:

“Watching White throughout high school, it was always fascinating to see this young man play. Every night, fans got a treat from this scoring guard and he simply couldn’t be stopped. And year after year, it was evident that White was one of the top players in the country; he simply couldn’t be stopped. It took a little time for national outlets to catch on but when they did, White continued to play with something to prove. At Greenfield, he averaged 31.0 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in his senior season and broke the all-time NC high school scoring record. And our national scouts continued to say that White has the talent to make it to the next level. One of the last times we had the opportunity to watch White was at the NC Top 80 and he came in with a mindset to show why he was one of the top players. He did just that and we remember everyone at the event was simply in shock in what they were watching. He took that mindset to Chapel Hill, where he averaged 16.1 points and 4.1 assists, made a freshman record 82 3-pointers and had the fifth-highest scoring average ever by a UNC freshman.”
