One of the most consistent and top players in the state has been 2025 Jaylen Cross, who is coming off a strong high school and is ready to have another big summer for Team CP3. After having a bit of a breakout summer last summer with offers rolling in, Cross has continued to attract eyes his way, earned a new offer, and is dedicated to improving as a player even more. Phenom Hoops recently spoke with Cross on all the latest to check in with him.

Recruitment and Focused this Summer

Cross has been and should only continue to be a hot target for many schools this summer and down the road. Right now, he holds offers from South Carolina, Richmond, LSU, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Albany, Charleston, East Carolina, Hampton, Tennessee, and Texas A&M, and has now added another ACC offer from Virginia Tech, a team that has been on them for some time now.

“It was good to get the offer from Virginia Tech,” Cross said. “We have a good relationship going on. I appreciated them coming to talk to me. It is only two hours away, so it is not too far. They play in the ACC, which is high-level. Also, they had a pretty solid season, and won some good games.”

Even though it is exciting to get a new offer on the table, Cross is locked in big-time in what he hopes to show even more about his game. He is ready to have a big season on the EYBL and carve his name out even more on a national level.

“All of the schools that have offered have stayed in touch. After the high school season, I decided to focus more on preparing for the EYBL season and working on my body than taking visits and stuff. I will start narrowing things down hopefully after Peach Jam when we see where things stand. I feel like I can be one of, if not the best, defender in the country and that’s what I want to prove to separate myself from other people. If I can do that and continue to be an efficient scorer and shooter it will show that I can play anywhere.”
