Around his area, Coby White’s name has been bouncing around over the past year as one to watch. This summer, Coby White’s name will bounce around the national scene as a prospect who must be had.

It only took White, a year and a half, half way through his sophomore year, to score is 1,000th career varsity point. He plays at Greenfield School, which plays in North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) 1A division. This is the same division that has produced the likes of John Wall, Dennis Smith, Quentin Jackson, Logan McClane, Sidy Muhammed, and many others played in.

Greenfield School has a history of putting players at the next level as well. These players include Brian Richardson (South Carolina), Logan McClane (Miami OH), Ashley Williams (Western Carolina), Sam Hughes (UNCA), Jeremy Jeffers (Drake), and others.

We spent a lot of time name dropping here, however we needed to make sure the reader understood that his buckets came against talent. We need to make sure the reader knows that for Coby White to be the best to come from his school, is saying he is something special.

This past weekend, White joined his CP3 16U team at Phenom’s Hoop State Challenge. On a team that has 7-8 players who already hold Mid-Major to High-Major Division 1 offers, it was White (who holds no Division 1 offers) that was decidedly the best player on each floor the team walked on.

Even with all his talents and surprising early accomplishments, there is virtually no film out on him, nor are there many write-ups floating around on the internet about him.

White was equally adept at playing the lead guard and the off guard position. He handled with poise and pace in the half court, he shot the ball with soft touch and range, and he attacked the basket, getting downhill quickly and living in the paint.

To think of all this production that White has already accomplished and he has not even begun to scratch the surface of his immense potential.

White has had a few ACC schools in to see him already, but none have pulled the trigger yet. We expect that to change as soon as the Spring Hoops Fest LIVE. This summer, White will make a big jump into the national rankings and will pick up multiple high major offers.

College Coaches will be able to see White and his CP3 16U team play in the Spring Hoops Fest LIVE on April 16-17 in Greensboro, NC.
