What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Moving onto a player that continues to make a pretty lasting impression as one of the best shooters in South Carolina, Marcus Kell. He's a wiry, long-bodied forward prospect with knockdown spot-up ability from mid-range and beyond the arc. Kell loves to move and relocate along the perimeter, but can also score quite effectively while facing or with his back to the basket. He moves well for his size and makes smart passes whenever possible. Kell knows how to operate within the team structure on both ends of the floor and never forces the action. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would make him a tougher interior presence on both ends of the floor. Coach Bellamy on Kell: 'Marcus really shot the ball well today. He showed that he can handle the ball in the open court and also rebounded well for his size. He's very coachable!' Kell is a prospect that should only continue to trend upward and will start seeing an uptick in his recruitment sooner than later.' – SC Top 80 Evaluation

'Last season, Kell averaged 14.3 PPG and 6'9 RPG and has become one of the top prospects in the region. Kell has excellent size for the small forward position and has the ability to stretch the defense with his outside perimeter shooting skills. He has excellent basketball instincts and has improved as an all-around player. Kell currently sports offers from Belmont, Bucknell, Morehead State, Western Carolina, Winthrop, and USC-Upstate. Coach Twuan stated, 'Marcus Kell is a BALL PLAYER that gets it done on the court. He plays really hard and can score from all three levels.'  While Kell has established himself as a high-level shooter, he has become much more versatile and dangerous as a complete player.' – Rick Lewis in 2021

'Kell was one of the more polished big men that I have watched play from today. The 6'8, strong-bodied big man maintains a large presence inside the paint. Kell uses his strong body to his advantage well, by playing very physical and bringing force in everything he does on the court. The big man screens hard, hedges hard, and affects a ton of shots around the rim. A player whose potential over the next few years is extremely high and I am excited to see what his development looks like at that next stage!' – Phenom Hoops in 2021

'Marcus has a beautiful jump shot, one of the best shot forms I've seen today. His mechanics are consistent and he must be focused on at all times. Kell could serve as a spot-up shooting option for a variety of college programs. He's likely due for a very promising season at Legion.' – Phenom Hoops in 2021

'Kell has been and continues to be a player that is regarded as underrated.  We are talking about a 6'7 prospect that has been known and continues to show that he can be incredibly productive, operate on several levels, and really score the ball effectively in a variety of ways.  He has put up some BIG numbers in the past and continues to be a consistent force on the floor, which is why it is confusing why more schools haven't got involved.' – Patrick O'Brien in 2021
