This past weekend, Phenom Hoops hosted our annual Tip-Off Classic in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event featured a variety of talented teams with intriguing prospects, and none were more dominant than LionChaserU. Although the have a slew of college-level pieces throughout their roster, we will take a closer look at their top performers from the two-day stretch…

5’10 ’26 Cam Tyler

Arguably their most consistent two-way piece, Tyler really impressed through his presence as a tough, heady guard. He’s somewhat unassuming at first glance but effortlessly caused problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. Tyler is a suffocating, high-motor defender with the quickness, physicality, and overall instincts to force turnovers at a strong rate. He’s an unselfish passer and knockdown shooter who can produce in various different roles. Whether making hustle plays, dictating the action, or filling in the gaps, Tyler made a lasting impression.

6’6 ’26 Khaleil Walters

It didn’t take long for Walters to capture the attention of everyone in the gym. He’s a freaky defender with phenomenal length, fluidity, and explosiveness. Walters defended multiple positions incredibly well while showcasing unique instincts for blocking shots and intercepting passing lanes. He excels in transition but also displayed cutting ability and a useful penetration sense. Walters is also a reliable rebounder. He will be virtually impossible to contain as he improves his jumper.

6’0 ’26 Winston Waite

Every team needs a steady, reliable floor general, and that’s exactly what Waite brings to this group. He’s a smart, unselfish, well-rounded guard who simply makes the right play and asserts himself within the flow of the action. Since November, he’s shown visible improvement. Waite displayed the ability to hit jumpers, set up others, and apply pressure as a penetrating threat. He’s comfortable without the ball in his hands and understands how to find opportunities as a cutter or spot-up threat. Waite is also a quality defender and rebounder.

6’4 ’26 ZyVaun Puckett

It’s easy to see the appeal with someone like Puckett, who possesses so many tools and checks so many boxes. He’s a long, skilled, athletic guard with excellent size. Puckett is a useful creator with craftiness, vision, and the ability to score in a variety of different ways. He’s a willing rebounder, defender, and poses a reliable threat in transition. Puckett is capable of dictating the action or producing within a role. Between his general growth and continued upside, it’ll be fun to watch him progress going forward.
