Now a rising senior, 2021 6'6 Nygie Troman turned what many would say is an impressive season at Richmond high school, averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds and helping secure a 20-win season.  It was one that he feels was pretty good but also one that motivates him just as much.

'I feel like it was a pretty good season,' he told Phenom Hoops.  'I was able to show my ability to control the game.'

With his feel for the game, it was hard to notice his impact on the floor. One you look at his game on the floor, versatility is the name of the game for Stroman. He is able to score in multiple ways and on multiple levels, but also impact being a monster on the boards, using his 6'6 frame to his advantage. And he is still continuing to improve and develop his ball-handling and getting comfortable in bringing the ball up to initiate the offense and in transition.

As we said, Stroman knows he had a terrific season, as he was named to the District 8 second-team, an honor he is grateful for but knows that also motivates him for next year in a way.

'I feel like we had a pretty good season but it could've been better.  It was an honor,' Stroman said about receiving honors this year.  'But it was also motivation to now get Player of the Year next season.'

One of his biggest moments this season as well was back in February, when he received his first Division I offer from North Carolina A&T, a relationship that continues to grow.

'That was a dream come true for me to have my first offer be from a Division I school,' he replied.  'I've always talked about it but for it to happen just seemed surreal.  The coaches really liked how I run the floor and play multiple positions and feel that I would be a perfect fit with their playing style.  I would say the staff and I have a pretty good relationship.'

Stroman certainly made his mark this season and has clearly put his name out there in the state of North Carolina. Keep an eye on what he is able to show this summer and next year at Richmond.
