6’6 Kayleb Coles (Lionchaser)

It’s perplexing to see a player like Coles, who truly possesses all the tools to be a clear difference-maker at the next level, still available for college programs. This head-scratching sentiment was only furthered through his dominant play throughout the weekend. Coles did legitimately everything, and it was impressive. Offensively, he consistently hit jumpers (with deep range), attacked the basket, played above the rim, and created for himself and others. Coles displayed great vision while constantly mixing it up as a scorer from all levels. He also regularly capitalized on second-chance opportunities. Additionally, Coles blocked numerous shots and secured rebounds at a high volume. It was easy to see the appeal, and coaches should take notice.

6’8 Jared Taylor (Cap City Charlotte)

In a similar vein to the entry above, Taylor should already have plenty of suitors at the next level. He’s a long, mobile, bouncy forward/post with a useful interior presence on both ends of the floor. Taylor finishes extremely well around the basket, both above and below the rim, and utilizes his body to effectively carve out space as a rebounder. His motor, specifically on the glass, allows him to consistently overwhelm opponents and collect second-chance opportunities. Taylor is also comfortable spacing the floor or attacking closeouts if necessary. His blend of size, rebounding, athleticism, and two-way interior presence should make him a difference-maker for a college program.

6’4 Javier Ortiz (Wildcats Elite)

Given coaches’ general desire for multifaceted players, one would expect Ortiz to have far more action within his recruitment. He’s a tough, athletic, glue-guy who can impact all facets of the game. Ortiz rebounds, defends multiple positions, and scores the ball in a variety of ways. He’s comfortable initiating the offense or finding opportunities as a cutter. Ortiz utilizes his motor and physical nature to consistently cause problems for opposing wings and forwards. He’s capable of securing rebounds and reliably pushing the break in transition.
