Rutgers entered the new year on a high note, as they learned that they had earned a commitment from one of their primary targets in 2024 Dellquan Warren.  Warren is a 4-star point guard from Keystone Athletic Academy that had seen his recruitment really pick up as of late, but it seems like the relationship he and the staff at Rutgers built remained strong in his mind.

Phenom Hoops spoke with Warren about his decision, and what ultimately helped him land on the Scarlet Knights.

Phenom: What made Rutgers the place for you in the end' What went into your decision'
Warren: I mean Rutgers is basically one of the first schools I was offered by and the love they showed from that day they offered is that it never changed, especially from Coach TJ (Thompson). That is my guy; our relationship is crazy, so for me it was just really the love they showed me and the big plans they had for me in the future.

What is their vision for you when you come into the program'
Warren: Put the ball in my hands and let me rock as soon as possible.  They trust me a lot with the team, I trust them a lot with my future, so it is basically a 50-50 thing.

Phenom: You have a great relationship with them. What were other things that impressed you with the program that you liked'
Warren: I love their defensive intensity. It is so much fun to watch and I can see myself out here; plus, they move the ball like Golden State.

Phenom: What will you be focusing on now with your decision behind you'
Warren: I will be focusing on getting stronger mentally and physically.
