Championship Sunday, it doesn't get any better than this on what has been a terrific event in Rock Hill. Heading into the 15u Big East bracket, East Carolina Elite 2024 and Carolina Riptide 2024 brought two talented and young teams together in hopes of starting the season off right.
Both teams brought their games and played incredibly hard, as East Carolina Elite 2024 was able to hold a halftime lead of 39-32. They were able to knock down some shots from outside, but also get several guys involved early on as Alex Rechetnikov led the way early with 10 first-half points.
Second half, Will Googins for Carolina Riptide continued to find his rhythm on the court, leading the charge offensively with 18 total points. With the Riptide as well, they bring this team-mentality to the floor and share the ball well, getting several guys in on the action. But East Carolina finished with five players in double-figures, none higher than 12 points, as they ultimately were able to keep their lead and earn the 70-61 victory and the championship.
