Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the flooded Piedmont! The Sadster is here to release his latest edition of the Furious 5! As the saying goes, “and then there were two”. The 4A Western Regionals, aka The Furious 5 Championship Tournament, began on Friday and will conclude on Thursday at The Joel in Winston Salem. North Meck and Lake Norman are still dancing as homestanding Lake Norman pulled away from Chambers late for an 82-61 decision, and North Meck dominated the #4 nationally ranked Pony Express of Myers Park at The Stable, 79-63. The Great One sends love, respect and best wishes for the following Furious 5 seniors:

These young men helped to give all of us many memories the last four years including, but not limited to, Myers Park and Weddington state titles the last two seasons. 1. NORTH MECK – THE MAXWELL-LESS VIKINGS WON A TIGHT GAME AS MT. TABOR PLAYED SLOW DOWN BUT BLEW OUT THEN F5 #1 MYERS PARK IN REVENGE FOR LAST YEAR AS MAXWELL RETURNED AND ISAIAH EVANS POURED IN 48.
2. LAKE NORMAN – THE WILDCATS, AKA THE LAKERS, TOPPED GRIMSLEY AND THEN NEUTRALIZED MAURIO HANSON, ENABLING THEM TO PULL AWAY FROM CHAMBERS LATE.
3. MYERS PARK – THE STANGS BLEW OUT THEN F5 #5 INDEPENDENCE BUT THEN WERE BLOWN OUT BY THEN F5 #2 NORTH MECK. SEASON COMPLETE.
4. CHAMBERS – SECURED THEIR SPOT IN THE F5 WITH A CONVINCING WIN AT THEN #3 WEDDINGTON BUT COLLAPSED IN THE LAST MINUTES AND DROWNED IN THEN #4 LAKE NORMAN. SEASON COMPLETE.
5. WEDDINGTON – THE WARRIORS, AKA THE TRIBE, FELL TO THEN DSO LIST MEMBER CHAMBERS AT THE RESERVATION. SEASON COMPLETE.
