Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the sniffing and sneezing Piedmont!  States are in the books but not without excitement in the Final 4.  The Great One finished up 3-1 in the finals, losing only the 2A game by one in OT as Reidsville completed their perfect season downing Farmville, 78-77.  His record for the playoffs ended up 206-46, or 82%.  His top category was 3A as he went 55-8 and his lowest was 2A as he posted a 48-15 mark.  His upset picks did quite well this season as he tallied a 10-5 record and even handed out a couple of KODs (Kisses of Death) in the process.  We will now review the final two Ring Round games.  In the 2A, 2023 ring holder Farmville rallied to force OT but missed a potential game winning shot as Reidsville prevailed in an exciting game.  The Rams’ bigs proved to be too much on the boards but Farmville was incredibly scrappy and didn’t go away.  Cudos to both squads.  In the 4A, North Meck ruined an undefeated season for New Hanover as Rodmik Allen kept the Wildcats within striking distance but the Vikings pulled away and finished up with a 57-47 win, their second over a team called “Wildcats” in the Final 4.  The Vikings’ 3rd state title capped off a legendary career for McDonald’s All-American Isaiah Evans who is headed to God’s Country (Duke) next fall.  Both Wildcats can’t hang their heads as New Hanover and Lake Norman return practically all of their main pieces and are favorites to return to the Final 4 next year.  That’s a wrap for the 2024 season but travel ball is upon us.  The Great One will try and make some summer Phenom Hoops events so if you know who he is don’t be shy.  Check out The Sadster’s QC 3A/4A yearly superlatives and farewell article on Phenom Hoops later this week.
