Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the still drying out Piedmont! Today we will look at The Great One’s picks for the 4A regional champions. He has responded well from going 0-fer in the 1A games Monday by sweeping the boards in the 3A and 2A classes Tuesday and Wednesday. Don’t expect a let down in 4A either as the Ol’ Cubic Zirconia Ball (can’t afford crystal) is on fire again and may just run the table the rest of the way. The 4A West Regional Championship is doubling as the Furious 5 title game and features #1 North Meck and #2 Lake Norman. McDonald’s All-American Isaiah Evans and a quality supporting cast are chasing a title and got past a big roadblock at Myers Park last week. The Lakers, who dismissed Chambers, are the next hurdle for the Vikings and are led by JR Trent Steinhour and SR Santana Lynch, a former Myers Park Mustang himself. In the East, top seed New Hanover is paced by three juniors in Rodmik Allen, Nolan Billings, and CJ Kornegay. Their opponent is the #2 seed Richmond Raiders who are trying to win back-to-back regional titles behind three seniors, NC State bound Paul McNeil, JV Drake and Jamarion Wall.
