Phenom Hoops recently spoke with a young freshman in 2026 Maximo Adams from California, and now we bring you his older brother in 2024 Marcus Adams Jr., who is also becoming a strong target for many college programs. We recently spoke to Marcus about the latest, his mindset of proving his game, and what else has been going on in his recruitment.
Locked in and focused this season
Adams has been a big part of Narbonne’s success this season, as he has been putting up some impressive numbers and having a few monster games as well. On the season, Adams is averaging 28 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists per game, as he says he is playing his best basketball because it is a statement-type season for him.
“I’ve been underrated my whole life and it is time I show the world who I am,” Adams said. The shooting guard continues to play at a high level, but Adams also says that he is focusing on improving in areas such as his body, his athleticism, and be a more dominant three-level scorer.
Recruitment Update:
As we mentioned, Adams has been a target for many programs and added another offer from Oregon along with his younger brother. Assistant coach Mike Mennenga has been his contact from the Ducks, and his thoughts on the school is that they are “a great program.”
Adams also mentioned that he didn’t know much about them, but that they do well on the court.
As far as other schools, the school that has been making him a priority and recruiting him the hardest lately is UCLA, but they have yet to offer.
“They have high interest in me, we are just waiting for a report card.”
