The Queen City Showcase in Rock Hill this weekend is going to be off the charts. With talent all on the floor, livestreams streaming the games, and a ton of coverage from Phenom Hoops, this is going to be one of the best events to start the travel ball season.
That is why we wanted to get a leg up on it, as we spoke to several coaches that will be bringing their teams to South Carolina this weekend. Below, we look at a few players that you may want to check out on the court, whether you are a college coach, a scout, or a fan.

Team: WCBA2025 – Deifer
Dillon Taylor – 2025/ 6’4
Coaches Thoughts: great body and upside, playing at the highest level of travel ball to improve footwork, athletic and good touch around the rim. Defends with intensity. Tons of potential to develop in the next few years. Gaining valuable experience to add to his size. Will be attending Wakefield High School
Gordie Balas – 2025/6’1
Coaches Thoughts: Very good wing player, gets shot off in traffic well, rebounds better than average, a scorer who understands the game from years playing with a well-coached group. Good jump shot. Can score at 3 levels. Will be attending Sanderson high school in the Fall
Elijah Deifer – 2025/ 5’9
Coaches Thoughts: Experienced at highest levels at running winning offense, makes everyone better on both ends of the floor, great passer and can run the floor, a true pass-first point guard for any level team as he grows physically, jump shot developing fast, good first step and lockdown defender. Will to grow into a significant point guard threat. Understands the game, plays QB in football as well. Will be attending either Broughton or Ravenscroft in Fall.
Brock Hoggard – 2025/ 5’8
Coaches Thoughts: A knock-down shooter, plays hard, and aggressive. Experienced with good coaching in travel and school. Played JV basketball in 8th grade. Will develop into a pure scorer with some growth. Plays hard every minute, hates to lose.
Will develop into a real threat with the high-level travel experience and at Ravenscroft.
