5’11 Unsigned Senior Mikey Dukes
First Baptist (Charleston, SC)

VCU came in earlier in the week to watch Dukes, and loved him. This comes as no surprise as Dukes is good enough to garner early playing time at a VCU. It is a wonder why he doesn’t already carry 15-20 D1 offers. He is the best available point guard in the Carolinas right now, and (Josiah James aside) he may be the best point guard overall in the Carolinas right now. He is the fastest player, with the ball in his hands, in the southeast. He is a dogged defender who straps for the entire floor and he is an exceptional passer and decision maker. Mid to high majors should be locking in heavily on him for the late signing period.

6’5″ 2020 Quentin Hodge
Lakewood High School (Sumter, SC)

We took a little heat last year for ranking Quentin Hodge higher than some more notable player in his class. Well, yesterday he showed that we may have put him a little low at number 4. Hodge is a noted athlete, he had a dunk of his go viral on Overtime last week. However, it is his ball skills and shooting that make him a high level prospect. Hodge played a lot on the ball in this game, both initiating offense and breaking the press. He also shot the cover off the ball, knocking down multiple 25 foot pull up jump shots. Hodge finished with 26 points and 12 boards, all the while playing with a fractured left wrist. It was a superstar performance and one that should have offers start flowing in for him. Mercer was in the crowd watching, glad they jumped in early, understanding Hodge will be recruited at a perceived higher level.

6’1″ 2021 Daveon Thomas
Lee Central High School (Bishopville, SC)

Really, this Lee Central team could have had any of three players listed as Thomas’ cousin Lebron stood out along with 7’2″ freshman Trevon Pearson. However, it was Daveon who really opened our eyes here. The sturdy guard did a great job of moving on and off the ball, showcasing deep range and touch as well as a tough handle and poise. Thomas does everything you want a guard to do, especially in the modern game. His team is very fun and they play a great brand of basketball. Along with Daveon, both Lebron and Travon should all quickly get on the radars of college coaches and Bishopville, South Carolina should be a city college coaches ACROSS THE COUNTRY frequent.

6’4″ Unsigned Senior Idrissa Bivens
Liberty Heights (Charlotte, NC)

Bivens, a New York native, is about as steady as the come. He is never rushed or rattled and seems to routinely make the correct read and play. He is comfortable off the ball, scoring at very efficient rate from three levels. He is also comfortable on the ball, handling under pressure (especially in pick and rolls) and getting everyone involved. Bivens game is not flashy, but it is incredibly efficient. He has great size and, as we mentioned before, can shoot the ball. It is no surprise Ole Miss, FIU and Illinois State offered throughout the process. College coaches should look closely here, he does a lot on the floor.
