The Carolina Clutch program has been a strong performer all throughout the summer, consistently playing in high-level games and bringing new talent to the scene around North Carolina. There are a few players that we have discussed from the program this summer but we are going to add another one in 2024 6'0 Gage Lattimore. The young guard may be a new name for many but he has had an intriguing summer with the program, really being one of the go-to players and helping lead the charge.
Lattimore looks and operates quite comfortably in helping run the offense on the floor, playing under control, playing at a terrific pace, and playing with a strong feel. It helps that he is a strong and well-built guard for how young he is but overall, he doesn't force much and does what the team needs him to do on the court. Depending on the game, Lattimore has demonstrated his well-rounded game. He steps up on the scoring end when needed, displaying a confident perimeter shot but also the ability to create for himself. He has terrific footwork and uses his strong from to embrace defenders and shows nice touch, as well as athleticism. You also have to like his ability to make plays for others though, delivering terrific on-time passes, finding his teammates in open positions, and making the smart decision on the floor.
Though he isn't a well-known name in the state of North Carolina, Lattimore provides that winning pedigree that only helps a team in the long run and it will be interesting to see where he continues to grow and develop with his game.
