Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Joe Rhyne
Class: 2024
Committed to: Washington and Lee

What Has Been Said:

“For starters, it’s worth noting that Rhyne is firmly in the discussion as one of the best shooters in the Carolinas. Last season, Rhyne hit 110 three-pointers at a ridiculously high 45% clip. That being said, he’s more than just a spot-up threat, as evidenced by his 101 assists to 23 turnovers and general understanding of how to produce within a primary role for a high-level team. Between his 50-45-90 (FG-3P-FT) shooting splits and overall volume, Rhyne is easily one of the most efficient players around. He’s also shown the ability to heat up quickly and take over games, notching eight performances of 20+ points and ten contests of 5+ made three-pointers. Rhyne’s per-game averages of 13.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 1.3 SPG should speak to his overall value for the Eagles.”

“Rhyne continues to be a player that grabs our attention, as he can be regarded as one of the top shooters from deep in the state of North Carolina. Rhyne is a smart guard that shows the ability to make tough plays off the dribble but can be a game-changer when he is able to get to his spots and knock down shots with terrific range. He did just that throughout the event, as he can certainly light it up and be a 3-point specialist for a college program at the next level.”

“To put it as easily as possible, Rhyne can be an absolute sniper on the floor and has the full green light to let it go when he is on the court.  He has really good size for his age, has only gotten bigger and stronger, while also developing his IQ and feel for the game.  Rhyne has a smooth, confident release from all over the floor, but is also quick on his feet, moves well as a defender, and has a natural feel for the game.”

“Rhyne is that x-factor for this team. You know what you are going to get from Mabor down low, but when things are going for Rhyne, he can make this team tough to take down. He continues to stretch the floor with his shot-making ability but doesn’t mind making plays off the bounce as well.”
