Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Ty Outlaw
Class: 2024
Committed to: Shaw

What Has Been Said:

“Finishing up, we look at a player who possesses all the necessary tools to anchor the paint on both ends of the floor, Tymaureon Outlaw. He’s a big, strong, physically overwhelming post prospect with long arms and excellent athleticism. Outlaw can finish with touch or power, and plays extremely well through contact. He does a great job of blocking shots and securing rebounds on both ends of the floor. On offense, Outlaw understands how to fill in the gaps and seize his opportunities whenever available. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities around the basket. Coach Bynum on Outlaw: ‘Ty is a big presence on the court. He utilizes his body extremely well to move people around and clear out space. He finished a ton of and-one opportunities. Ty needs to improve his ball-handling and shot selection, but otherwise knows how to play the game.’ Outlaw enjoyed a productive showing at camp and should be a target for scholarship-level coaches over his upcoming season at The Burlington School.”

“There is no doubt that Outlaw brings a physical nature to the court that should catch the attention of college coaches. Outlaw can physically dominate opponents down in the paint with a blend of strength and athleticism, bullying through defenders, attacking the boards, and finishing strong through contact and at the rim.  He is one that doesn’t need to be the focal point to be effective but finds ways to produce for his team on both sides of the court. Outlaw could certainly be a valuable piece to a team.”

“Outlaw looks like a determined forward who is looking to make a statement this season. When you look at him though, you can see easily what appeals about his game; his strong frame and physicality stands out immediately.’ Outlaw though played really well at the NC Top 80, with energy, competed on both ends, and continues to develop more of his game as well as a strong finisher.’ Excited to see what he can do this upcoming season.”

“Outlaw was another player who came to the camp and proved himself. He played hard, with a strong motor, competed, and was not only able to continue to showcase how physical of a forward he can be but also showed the ability to pop out and score from other levels.’ Outlaw was aggressive with his scoring, getting to the line, and battled well in the paint.”
