It is always great to watch Phenom Hoops alums in action and finding success at the college level.  One player though has absolutely been dominating early on this season and putting up incredibly strong numbers so far to start the season.

Oscar Tshiebwe, who we first viewed at Mountain Mission back around 2016, has been an absolute MONSTER for the Wildcats of Kentucky, putting up numbers that have to have the attention of NBA scouts and college basketball fans around the country.

But he honestly has been showing this for quite some time now.  Now granted, one might not have envisioned the numbers he has been putting up so far at Kentucky but he has been dominant in the paint for some time.

Whether it was at Mountain Mission or at the Virginia Top 80, one could see that Tshiebwe was unique. He had an excellent skill set in controlling the boards, finishing in the paint, and had an excellent body before setting foot on a college court.  Here is just some footage of what he showed at the Top 80 five years ago with Phenom Hoops:

Though he still had a way to go and was still developing, Tshiebwe was special and has been incredibly consistent so far at West Virginia and now starting at Kentucky.  So far, Tshiebwe has been posting averages of 13.8 points, 16.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game at Kentucky, posting some impressive individual performances so far this season:

vs. Duke: 17 points/ 20 rebounds
vs. Robert Morris: 14 points/ 20 rebounds
vs. Mount St. Mary's: 24 points/ 16 rebounds
vs. Ohio: 0 points/ 10 rebounds
vs. Albany: 12 points/ 14 rebounds

The junior big man has been incredible and certainly is ranking up as one of the top Phenom Alums and college basketball players in the country, as he looks to help Kentucky towards a deep run this season and into the NCAA Tournament.
