Palmetto Classic
Village Christian vs Independence

Day 3 at the Palmetto Classic is here and with it we have 6 more games on tap. Game 5 on the day gives us our first of 2 championship games as Independence goes up against Village Christian. Both teams are 2-0 this week and have looked good. Village brings a ton of size to the floor while Independence gets it done with fantastic team ball. With a title on the line, who would step up and take this trophy home'
As has been the case al week long, Independence came out firing on all cylinders and took a 19-10 lead in the 1st quarter. Village got 8 from Travion McCrae to stay close but otherwise, it was all Independence early. This trend would continue into the 2nd quarter with Independence opening up a double-digit lead going into the break. The lead would swell to 19 to start the 4th as Independence would take this comfortably getting the title in the process. Final score here was 81-46, Independence.

Players of note:

Village:

Travion McCrae, 6'1 2019 G – Tough lead guard is a load on the floor, especially when in attack mode. Can shoot the rock, get to the rim, and set others up as needed. Solid back to back games here. (11p/1r/3a)

Derrick Quansah, 6'11 2019 F – Shot blocker impacted the game all weekend long with his length. Plus rebounder as well only is going to get better as he fills out. (12p/13r/5 blocks)

Independence:

Raja Milton, 6'1 2019 G – Glue guy extraordinaire did it again with another solid effort. Great defense and all-around skill set helps his team win games. (22p/5r/2a)

Matt Smith, 6'6 2019 F – Gave up size to Village all game long and never gave ground. Strong player really worked the glass here. (7p/14r/2 blocks)
