Phenom Hoops was excited to head out near the Charlotte area to check out ACE Skill Development, a program that has been steady in the area but also continues to grow. As it is in the team name, this is a program that continues to develop players of all ages and levels, as they have grown from four teams in Year 1 to now having 14 total teams this year. This is a program that will be a staple all year long on the Phenom platform and will be a must-see for all to see.

NOTES FROM PRACTICE

Gobena: Showed flashes as a playmaker, whether it is scoring and creating for himself, or making plays off the bounce to find others.

Tharakan: A guard that displayed quickness, pushed in transition, was able to drive and create, but ran the offense in the halfcourt.

Johnson: Length and size, can make an impact in an array of ways, and good feel around the basket. A versatile piece for this team.

Swain: Has the frame and size to help man the paint and go up against the bigs, but also displayed potential in stretching the floor at times.

Dotson: A guard who can knock down open shots but plays well within the offense and should be a valuable piece on the court.

Rupert: One that is willing to make plays in a variety of ways, compete on both ends, battle inside, but also make plays in other areas of the court.

NOTES FROM PRACTICE

Dunn: Smart feel for the game, understands how to help run the offense, vocal, and can knock down open shots but also create as well.

Wacker: Will be interesting to see what he can provide. Was injured at practice but gives this team valuable size.

Millingan: Like his motor and activity on both ends, competes well, and shows that he is willing to battle on the court as well as be an option scoring from multiple levels.

Zepp: Displayed the ability to get to his spots and be an effective shooter, especially in catch-and-shoot situations.

Sanchez: I like his blend of playmaking and athleticism on the floor. ade plays in a variety of ways for his team.

Solomon: An effective option on the floor that takes what is given, doesn’t force but also can knock down open shots as well as score off the dribble at times.

Thomas: A versatile option that can play multiple positions, displays a smooth pull-up game, and can impact the game in an array of ways.

Hutchens: Quick release guard that plays within the offense, looks for his outside shot, and can knock down shots from the perimeter.

Gargus: He is an active glue-guy that makes his impact felt in a variety of areas. Excels in catch-and-shoot situations.
