The second game of our second annual George Lynch Invitational carried onward with a highly anticipated contest between Northside Christian and 1 of 1 Academy. On one side, the Crusaders have clearly maintained their championship-level mentality during the early season. Similarly, 1 of 1 Academy turned a ton of heads throughout the last calendar year and easily possess some of the most enticing prospects in the state. Things got underway in a fast-paced manner, where Northside immediately took over and never looked back. Behind the hot shooting of Kyrell Shaw and heady point guard play from Josh Bullock, the Crusaders rapidly jumped out to an 18-0 lead before allowing a single point. Despite their sluggish start, 1 of 1 continued to fight. They showed resilience during the closing minutes of the third quarter and managed to drop the deficit to 49-30. In the final period, 1 of 1 Academy managed to get the lead down to seven points, but Northside Christian weathered the storm to secure a 70-60 victory.
