Cannon went undefeated in conference play and had a tough non-conference schedule that really tested them outside the state of North Carolina at times. This is a balanced team that has a ton of talent, including a few freshmen who have stepped up. 2027 Madison Drayton is a player you should know quickly, as she has been terrific this year averaging 15.2ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.1apg, and 3.2spg. But they also have veterans as well to help lead this team, in what they hope is to be a championship season.
Team to Watch For:
This was a tough one because there are teams that have competed and been tough all season. Providence Day started rough but started to get things going for much of the season, and had a tough close loss to Cannon near the end of the season. Jaida McClure continues to be a force, but they will need others to continue their production as well to earn a title. Then you have Rabun Gap, who has been strong and has started to get things going, winning eight in a row to end the season. Did they turn a corner late and find their groove? Lastly, I do like the balanced attack the Wesleyan Christian can bring, with 2025 Taylor Hawley, 2027 Sara Carr, and 2026 Kennedy Jackson, but will it be enough in the end?
