Top Seed Overall:
Cannon earned the top spot this year in the 4A Division. They have had a tough schedule all season long, have gone out of state to challenge themselves, and are led by two of the top players in the state in 2024 Austin Swartz (Miami commit) and 2025 Isaiah Henry. This is a dangerous team that can put up points, as they have high IQ guards, players that understand their roles, and players that can fill it up offensively. It may come down to the defensive side of the ball if this team wants to secure another title.
Proven Top 4 Seeds:
Cannon earned the top spot, but the Top 4 seeds have all proven themselves at times this year. Covenant Day may be the sneakiest team that no one is talking much about, but they have strong guards and have shown they can be tough both offensively and defensively. They have certainly surprised many with a 21-7 record and they will be playing at home. Could they make one last run to a title? Christ School is regarded as the favorite by many, as they return from last year’s title run and have an impressive resume of 23-5 overall. They have the guard play, the experience, this size with 2025 Zymicah Wilkins and company, and are one of the deepest teams in the state. Finally, Carmel Christian may have one of the most intriguing two offensive weapons in 2024 Kameron Taylor, who has been rising up the ranks along with 2025 Bryce Slay.
Sneaky Teams to Watch:
There will be a lot of talk surrounding the top four seeds in the 4A Division, but the two teams that certainly grab my attention and could be interesting to watch are Providence Day and Wesleyan Christian. Providence Day has big, strong guards in 2025 Jonah Lawrence, 2025 Trajan Thompson, and 2025 Nick Hailey, all prospects with size. Then they developed bigs that have been a good force. Could it all come together and make a run as the No. 5 seed? And then you have Wesleyan Christian, a battle-tested team that is led by 2025 Zacch Wiggins and others that compete, along with size in 2024 Luke Morgan and 2024 Jordan Dancy. Could they play spoiler to the party?
