Lady Phenom is ramping up its coverage, and there are plenty of players that should be earning the attention of many after their strong season. One player that we are interested in learning more about is 2026 5'3 Diamond Wilson from North Edgecombe high school.

Wilson is coming off a very impressive freshman season in which she averaged 18.5ppg, 5.1apg, 5.3rpg, and 2.9spg, really filling it up all over and leading her team.  She can impact the game in so many ways as a guard, shooting the ball well (52 percent from the floor), knocking down threes from outside (hit 22 on the season), creating and finishing well around the basket, playing scrappy, and also dishing it and battling on the glass. Wilson also can get it done on the defensive end; the stats all back that up.

Lady Phenom spoke with Wilson more about her game and summer, while also looking ahead to next season. See what she had to say, as she is one to start watching more in North Carolina.

Lady Phenom: How has everything been going this summer with travel ball'
Wilson: From last season, I've been showing I can score the ball more. Last year, I was more of a facilitator and I'm working on doing both now at an efficient level.

Lady Phenom: What has been your focus on your game this summer and how would you best describe your game and how you like to operate'
Wilson: This summer, my main focus has been getting stronger and working on getting to my spots. I would describe my game as a floor general. I like the offense to flow through me. I also like to be a pest on defense and cause issues for the other team's point guard.

Lady Phenom: What is your excitement about your sophomore season next year at North Edgecombe'
Wilson: I'm very excited to step up into this leadership role. We will only have one senior, so I have to prepare myself to be able to lead a team and hold myself and others accountable.
