Phenom Hoops was sitting baseline for a great day of basketball at the Queen City Classic, which brought several teams to Northside Christian to square off.  First game of the night was Northside Christian welcoming in West Charlotte on the girl's side.

Both teams started out a little slow, but Northside Christian was able to take the early advantage after the first quarter with their defense and ability to get out in transition. It helped them to a 10-5 first-quarter lead. Second quarter, West Charlotte started to chip away early, but Northside Christian countered that with strong defense and '23 Zoe Henderson leading the offense. Their strong play helped NCA increase its lead even more, eventually leading 31-14 at halftime.

The second half was much of the same, as Northside Christian was able to expand its lead even more and eventually get it to running clock late in the fourth, as they ran away with the 67-26 victory to start the day.

Final: Northside Christian 67 – West Charlotte 26

Stats:
NCA: Zoe Henderson 11pts, Courtney Ashford 12pts, Amani Womack 16pts, Nykera Engle 11pts
WC: Jaylah Henderson 12pts, Jonnae Bennett 7pts

Standouts:

2023 Zoe Henderson (NCA): Henderson led the charge and played extremely well today. She was active on both sides of the ball, helped create turnovers, and did a great job in running the floor and finishing out in transition. She was relentless in her attack and excelled in finishing around the basket throughout the game.

2023 Jaylah Henderson (West Charlotte): Henderson was the one leading the charge for her team, as she was strong in being able to create her own shot and get downhill.  Henderson was shifty with her ability to get around defenders, was able to get paint touches consistently, and showed range in her game.

2024 Amani Womack (NCA): The junior guard did a great job in being effective with her scoring ability. Whether it was playing off the ball and getting to her spots to knock down shots with confidence and range, or allowing her defense to help create offense in transition, Womack was effective. Led the team with 16 points in the win.
