Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Nadia vonReichbauer
Class: 2024
Committed to: UNC-Pembroke

What She Said:

Lady Phenom: What made UNC-Pembroke the place for you in the end?
Nadia: From the first time I set foot on campus, I just had a feeling that I hadn’t felt on any other visit. They had a game that night and just a few hours before the entire coaching staff took me around campus on a visit and that was so huge to me. Just the support from the coaches to how welcoming the girls were every time I was around them was special. I felt like this was the perfect place for me to be able to develop on and off the court and work to reach my full potential.

Lady Phenom: What is their vision with your game and how do you hope to help the program in the coming years?
Nadia: Their vision is for me to support as a stretch 4. Everyone knows me as a 3-point shooter, but I’ve been really focused on developing my post-game to be more versatile. My goal is to come in, build great relationships with my teammates, work incredibly hard, and support wherever my coaches need me.

Lady Phenom: What are you hoping to focus on before hitting campus with your game?
Nadia: I’ve really been studying my team and the other teams in Conference Carolina. To transition to the next level, I will be focusing this off-season on increasing my physicality and agility. That will be critical for me to be able to contribute to my team’s success.

Lady Phenom: What kind of relationship have you been able to build over time with that program?
Nadia: After that first visit, I knew I wanted to play for Coach Haskins and Coach Bohannon. They have always been clear with me and my fellow recruits that the process would take time and we had to choose them just as much as they were choosing us. I’ve been fortunate to spend a lot of time on campus at camps, visits, and games. Throughout that time, I’ve been able to build a great relationship with the coaching staff and players. UNCP feels like home to me.
