The season is coming close to an end, which is hard to believe at times.  But this just gives us time to think about teams and look back at what we have seen, as well as think about the future.  We first took a glance at the NCISAA 4A Division, one that many would peg Christ School as the favorite.  One could certainly have a case for that, as they have proven themselves in a big way this season, racking up 20+ wins again and having a strong resume.  Christ School is a team that is loaded at several positions, and brings a tremendous amount of depth along with talent; so one could easily say that this is the team to beat and they may be right.

But, I’m here to give a different perspective and show that this is a division that many could be sleeping on.  Let’s start with some of the other contenders, as we have been able to watch several of these teams in action this year.  Cannon is Cannon; Coach Roth will have his team ready, they bring offensive firepower behind two stars in 2024 Austin Swartz and 2025 Isaiah Henry, but this is also a team that is having others step up like 2025 Jaylen Claggett, 2027 Lincoln Vinson, 2024 Max Murash, and others.  This is a team that averages 75 points per game and can turn it on in a big way late in the season.

One of the sneakiest teams to watch out for is Covenant Day, as they have been racking up wins in impressive fashion, including wins against Christ School and Cannon.  They have a force down low in Michael Marcus who can be demanding in the paint and matchup with bigs. But what really impresses me with this team is how pesky their guards can be, led by 2024 Elijah Green, 2025 Chris Rivens, and 2025 Tyree White.  This team only gives up 50 points per game and they have won 14 of their last 15 games.  Should they be the favorite heading into the playoffs?

Two other teams that I have my eyes on are Providence Day and Carmel Christian. Providence Day has good depth and a strong group of starters, led by 2025 Jonah Lawrence, 2025 Nick Hailey, and 2025 Trajan Thompson.  They all can be scorers, be physical, and create tough matchups for teams with their size.  And this is a team that has two rising forwards in 2025 Osvaldo Haynes and 2025 Julian Johnson, that continue to get better. We also look at Carmel Christian, a team that has challenged themselves all year long and have two of the best scoring options in 2025 Bryce Slay and 2024 Kameron Taylor. Could they put on a show and make a late run? Possibly…

Then again, you have to continue to look down the list of teams that have the potential to make a deep run. Wesleyan Christian has a strong resume and has strong options leading the charge in 2025 Zacch Wiggins and company. They surely have the talent to make some noise, along with Charlotte Country Day. 2024 Amare Bethel and company would love nothing more than to make a last run.

When it comes time for the playoffs in the 4A NCISAA division, this may be a division much deeper and sneakier than many may think, and it could be a battle to the finish. Who do you have coming out on top?
