Back at the Phenom March Madness, there was plenty of intriguing talent to be found as Phenom Hoops was able to get an updated viewing of prospects.  One player that we recently saw at the Phenom Hoop State Championship and then once again at the March Madness, 2024 6'7 Antoine Hurns is a player that continues to grab our attention with what he shows.

We have watched Hurns in action on multiple occasions before, including at our NC Top 80 where we had this to say: 'He's a long, explosive forward prospect who can overwhelm opponents with his physical presence on both ends of the floor. Hurns is a great finisher who can play well above the rim, attack off the bounce, and knock down shots from the perimeter. He possesses sharp quickness and nice footwork. Coach Palmore on Hurns: 'Antoine is gifted with size and athleticism. Can get his shot off with ease. He must understand the difference between okay shots, good shots, and great ones. Likes to leak out, but his size could be better utilized as a rebounder. Could be a really good defender on the ball and at the rim.' Hurns did a lot of things well at camp, and should be a useful contributor for Word of God going forward.'

And Hurns has only been able to build off of that success, as he not only became a valuable piece for Word of God this past season off the bench but he is looking strong early on with Team Trezz Williams to start the summer. Hurns has the length, athleticism, and energy that just grabs your attention. He finishes high and above at the rim, always seems to be active around the basket and on the glass, and has a frame and skill set that allows him to operate from multiple levels. At the Phenom March Madness, Hurns was putting up numbers of 15-20ppg and if he continues to produce as he has, more eyes should be coming his way.
