Teams have put in the work and have competed over the last several weeks, as we finally got to the championship weekend of the Hoop State League. On Sunday, we had two divisions looking to take home some honors and continue their success into the season.

First off in the silver division, Richmond Jammers and UBU faced off in a very intriguing battle. It was an offensive game in the first half, as UBU took the small 43-35 lead in the first half led by Calvin Woods and Hunter Watkins, both of which got into double figures. But Richmond had a balanced attack as well led by Jamorian Wall with three 3’s in the first half.

Second half though, UBU continued their balanced attack, as Omar Farmer and others also got involved. They were able to get out and score easy baskets, and shared the ball well as UBU went on to secure the 85-63 victory. Paul McNeil had a strong showing for Richmond with 21 points.
