Coach Chris Duhon

One of the surprise teams last year was Gaston Christian, but once you started to view their roster and what they had to offer, you could see that this is a team that had a chance to make noise. And they certainly did, finishing 23-10 overall last year.

But many of the same names return from last year, as the Eagles will now be led by NBA and Duke legend coach Chris Duhon.  Coach Duhon certainly brings a lot to the table for Gaston Christian, as he knows the game in and out and should only continue to develop the talent he has with him.

The Eagles should only benefit from a year of experience underneath their belt last year, as players should only elevate their game even more.  2026 Cameron Newman will be leading the charge with the ball in his hands, as the high-IQ point guard shows tremendous poise and understanding of the game.  Whether he is facilitating and dishing, or showing how effective of a scorer he truly can be, Gaston Christian will certainly want the ball in his hands.

They will also have the size and presence of 2024 Makoi Mabor, who continues to bring tremendous size, motor, and paint presence both offensively and defensively.  Whether he is carving it up on the boards, blocking shots, or being a force offensively, Mabor brings a ton of value to the court.  Another big-time returning player will be 2024 Joe Rhyne, a sharpshooter that can really open an offense and create a balanced attack for Coach Duhon.

Whether Gaston Christian is operating inside or out, the Eagles have the core key guys to make another run like they did last year.  And from what we saw as well, they have plenty of new names that can step up, fill in the holes, provide depth, and make plays on the court.  So make sure you watch out once again for the Eagles of Gaston Christian.
