The game everyone was talking about, Word of God vs. Moravian Prep. The crowd showed out and the players did as well.
Word of God – 61
Moravian – 65
Word of God put five players in double figures as they had only six who played over ten minutes. They also rebounded the ball well, as they out rebounded Moravian 31-26.
However, when it comes to shot making, 44% from the field, 38% from 3 and 54% from the free throw line. They also turned the ball over 15 times.
Moravian on the other hand knocked down 48% of their shots while only turning the ball over 7 times for the game. Moravian knocked down 13 free throws as well, while Word of God attempted 13.
Individually, Josh Hall stole the show. He scored 24 points, on 9-16 field goals. It was effortless bucket getting as he was able to get into the teeth of the zone and finish at the basket.
Shakeel Moore also was able to hound the opposition defensively. He finished with 4 steals, but also, as a point guard, he plays efficiently going 6-11 from the field.
For Word of God, they had five guys who scored between 10 and 13 points for the game. Isaiah Todd had 12 points (5-10 FG) and 9 boards. Chase Forte also played a very good game, the unsigned senior point guard finished with 12 points (4-6 3P) and 7 assists.
Over all the game was a chess match, with both teams sitting back and zone and attempting to pack it into the paint. There were 35 3s attempted in this game with only 10 made.
Great game. Great players. Great atmosphere.
