Since the travel ball season concluded, folks have been constantly buzzing about the excitement surrounding all the programs who have begun their seasons. Unfortunately, that statement only holds true for independent and private schools'which can lead to months of unnecessary player movement. We've seen more players transfer this summer than ever before, simply in hopes of being able to salvage their high school season or final opportunity to showcase their abilities to college coaches. Although everyone has their own viewpoint of the current pandemic, no one can justify the disadvantages that public schools were dealt in this process. Think of someone like Jah Short, who was simply dominant throughout the summer with Garner Road yet hasn't received the same amount of acknowledgement over the last month or so. That is the entire purpose for this article: to remind everyone about the potentially special talent brewing at Farmville Central.

Everyone knows about NC State commit Terquavion Smith, former floor general Justin Wright, and likely D2 superstar Samage Teel. However, with the latter duo departed for the collegiate ranks, Smith, Short, and Leontae Moye are left to keep the ship afloat. While Smith will likely dominate the scoring column on a nightly basis, don't be surprised to find Short leading in various other facets while still asserting himself as an efficient offensive weapon. Between his IQ, physical development, and blend of size, skill, and athleticism, the appeal should be fairly obvious. Add in his natural leadership and there's really nothing preventing Short from becoming a star in the very near future. So much attention has been given to nationally discussed names like Robert Dillingham and Mikey Williams, but there are many college programs who would be doing themselves a favor by trying to get involved with Short as early as possible. He's already shown the makings of a Division I prospect, and should only continue to trend in a positive direction for the foreseeable future.
