The last two years, Davidson Day had to go through some growing pains as they finished 7-12 overall in the 2021-22 season and 5-17 overall last year.  But how much can change in just a year, as Davidson Day is back on top after securing the NCISAA 2A Title this past weekend against Greenfield, 74-64.

Coming into the season, the Patriots looked to be a very interesting team to watch with a revamped roster and plenty of new names to watch out for.  And head coach James Long certainly tested his team throughout the season, playing in several big games throughout the season and in several big-time events such as Phenom Hoops.

It ended up paying off in the end, finishing 24-7 overall and with a ring.

When talking about this team, one of the first things you noticed with them was the length and overall size they brought to the table. But this was a group that came together, built something strong early on, and played with tremendous energy and that only grew as the season went on. Now, they had some ups and downs while also looking to figure out a few things along the way, but they got it all together at the right time.

2025 Isaiah Denis was tremendous all season long in helping lead the way, while 2024 Mason Smith (Mercer commit), 2025 Levon Jacobs, 2024 Brady Kester, 2026 Will Stevens, and so many others had big impacts and led the charge in several ways also. This was truly a team effort this season, as anyone had nights when they stepped up and made plays. And even though they will be losing some key players from this year’s team, this is a team that could be dangerous once again with the talent that returns.

But for now, Davidson Day is back on top after the last three seasons.
