Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Trey Green
Class: 2023
Committed to: Xavier

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Watching multiple games for Green from the event, the 5’10 point guard continues to show why just how gritty he is on the court and whoever gets him at the next level, is going to have a clear leader for their future.  Every time we watch Green, one of the first things that consistently stands out is his toughness and determination on the floor.  Whether he is needed in running and initiating the offense, be more of a scoring threat, stretch the floor with his outside shot, or get his teammates involved, Green can help in a variety of ways.  But what some don’t always notice (until you watch him), Green is an absolute difference-maker and determined defender on the court, bringing that scrappy mentality.”

“Green is a fantastic floor general and seems to be the spoon that stirs the drink; he simply isn’t afraid of the big lights.  For Team Charlotte this summer, he played with tremendous pace and leadership, leading the attack, creating off the dribble, pushing in transition, and scoring at the rim or with his outside game.  Green showed that he is an absolute competitor on the courts.”

“Green continues to get stronger and gets after it on both ends of the floor.  He has worked on his bounce, finishing at the rim, while also showing great poise offensively.  Green plays with a strong feel to his game and understands how to initiate the offense in the half-court or in transition.  His ability to play under control, keeping his eyes up to find his teammates but also being able to go get a bucket when called upon is one that should capture the eyes of many.”

“Between his production with Team Charlotte and Lake Norman Christian over the last calendar year, it should be easy to get folks excited about Trey Green. Sure, people will always point to his lack of elite size as a point of contention. However, Green has simply outperformed every opponent in his path—regardless of size difference. He’s a smart, heady, balanced floor general with the ability to run a team while still applying phenomenal scoring pressure from all levels. Green is a crafty shot-creator, both for himself and others, and has the necessary blend of toughness, athleticism, and leadership to be a priority for various programs.”
