Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Elijah Wilson
Class: 2021
Committed to: Toledo

What the Player Said:

PHR: What made Toledo the place to call home for you in the end'

Wilson: They made me feel like it would be a home away from home and expressed how much they believe in me and also how eager they are into continuing to develop me into a better player.

PHR: What did the staff say when you told them and how do they think they can use you on the floor'

Wilson: The staff was super excited when I made the decision. They want me to come in and be an immediate impact, they want me to come in and score the basketball, facilitate make plays, and defend the way they know I can.

PHR: For all the Toledo fans that don't know your game, how would you best describe your game on the court'

Wilson: A dynamic three-level scorer that can create off the dribble and defend at a high level.

PHR: Who did you really establish a relationship with at the program'  Who was your main recruiter and what kind of relationship did you create with them'

Wilson: My main recruiter was head coach TK (Tod Kowalczyk) and Jeff Massey. And I established a bond and a trust type of relationship with the both of them, while they laid the game plan out for me.

PHR: What will now be your focus with the decision behind you'

Wilson: Just to continue to get better and perfect my craft.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Wilson is a prospect that many should look at with his size, ability to score on multiple levels, and ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. Plays with a smooth feel and plays a great pace.' – Phenom Tip-Off Classic

'He has a high IQ to accompany his scoring ability which allows him to take over games for this team. He has the ability to score from all areas of the court and is quite consistent. What I love most about his game is the pride he takes defensively. He takes pride in hounding ball handlers and really looks to cause a lot of turnovers. He controls the pace of the game and plays to his strengths, never tries to get outside of himself.' – from HS Jamboree in 2020

'Wilson is an intriguing prospect and you can see why schools have their eyes on him. A 6'5 wing prospect that can score in a variety of ways on the court.  But what impressed us the most was his willingness and never backing down on the defensive end.  Love that about Wilson's game.' – from Phenom Challenge in 2020

'Wilson is one that goes under the radar but programs need to start taking notice of his game.  His is a 6'5 prospect that scores in a variety of ways but also really makes his presence known on the defensive end.' – from Phenom Queen City in 2020
