Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Zach Baldinelli
Class: 2019
Committed to: Limestone College

What the Player Said:

Q: What all went into your decision and why was that the place for you in the end'

Zach: I was looking for a school that fits me academically first and then a place that fits me with basketball. The academics and location were perfect for me, being that it's very close to home. I quickly realized that basketball-wise, it was the best too. I've known Coach Kyle Perry since he was at USC Upstate, and he's a top of the line coach. He will 100 percent get the best out of me every day.

Q: How did you inform the staff'

Zach: I was able to tell head coach Kyle Perry in person. It was a special moment!

Q: What are they hoping you can bring to the table for that program'

Zach: They feel I can come in and be a program changer. They see me coming off of a lot of screens and setting up and shooting the ball a lot.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Zach has an excellent understanding of the game. He has a tremendous range on his shot and his attempts always seem to come from within the offense. In addition, Zach is a team-first player and is willing to make the extra pass. We were also impressed with his strong hard work ethic demonstrated throughout the tourney. The southpaw has a sweet looking jumper and a soft touch, especially from the free throw line. While he may not be the flashiest player on the course, he is always one of the most consistent players you will find. No matter the venue or setting, you can always expect effort and a winning approach from him.' – Phenom Hoops

'Whenever this Upward team needs consistency, they look to Baldinelli and, more times than not, he rises to the occasion. He provides a nice mix of ball-handling, passing, and scoring. He also has the ability to do damage with or without the ball.' – 2018 Summer Havoc

'Continuing onto a player that is so polished and capable of excelling with any group of teammates, Zach Baldinelli. He's a wing that has a high-level IQ and understanding for the game on both ends of the floor. Baldinelli is able to do pretty much anything on the offensive end: handle (and distribute) the ball, score on all three levels, spot-up, and even use his size around the basket against smaller defenders. He's an outstanding teammate that seems to never make an error, never turning over the ball and always finding the best option available. Baldinelli is what many would describe as a 'gamer,' especially given his phenomenal motor and ability to affect the game without the ball in his hands. He's already a strong defender that knows how to force opponents into tough situations, typically leading to turnovers. Next in his development process is continuing to work on his quickness, as he will be able to blow by defenders and get to the rim much easier. Coach Threadgill on Baldinelli: 'Zach just gets it. He plays very hard and he's fundamentally sound. I have loved coaching him; he can score the ball from anywhere and does whatever his team needs to win. You'll never catch him in one spot because he moves so well without the ball in his hands. Zach is one of those players that everyone loves to play with. He hit some clutch shots throughout the day.' Baldinelli certainly earned his Second Team All-Camp honors and should keep playing the exact same way this season at Boiling Springs, as his recruitment will be forced to rise.' – SC Top 80
