How time flies sometimes when watching these players on the court because it seems like not long ago when Phenom Hoops was talking about Jamarii Thomas and the energy he brought to the court for The Burlington School.
At that time, it felt like a broken record of what was being said about Thomas.
“What will you be getting with Jamarii Thomas? Winner, Absolute toughness on both ends, Downhill PG with body control, Unselfish Leader, Energy, and a Player that will leave it all on the court and just wants a team victory.”
Thomas played hard and gained valuable experience as a freshman at UNCW, and elevated his game as a sophomore, averaging 7.1ppg and started 23 games. Now at Norfolk State, Thomas is flourishing at the highest level, averaging 17.5ppg, 31.2mpg, 3.9rpg, and 3.8apg. He continues to be a pest defensively, plays with such energy and relentlessness on the court, and has continued to elevate himself as a go-to scorer. Thomas has shown that he isn’t afraid of the moment, is able to get to his spots to knock down shots, and continues to lead. And all of that is helping contribute to winning, as Norfolk State sits at 20-10 overall, helping the Spartans win 9 out of its last 11 games.
