6’8 2019 BJ Mack (Oak Hill Academy) has taken two official visits thus far. On September 1st, Mack took an official visit to the University of South Florida. On September 8th, Mack took his second official visit to East Carolina University. At Monday’s open gym, we got a chance to speak with the 6’8 power forward. With the ECU visit fresh on his mind, he stated both visits went really well. “Coach Dooley really wants to institute a high pace type of game. In addition, I really like how close knit the coaching staff was on the visit.”

Next up for Mack is an October 12th visit to DePaul and then a October 19th visit to Arkansas. With that in mind, Mack is thinking about making an early fall decision between the four schools. Mack is a cerebral power forward that has excellent hands and has outstanding range on his jumper. In speaking with head coach Steve Smith earlier in the week, he stated “BJ has really been shooting the ball extremely well. As a matter of fact, he has been shooting it as well as anyone on the team.”

One thing is for certain, you will always get a rock steady game from Mack. He is fundamentally sound, has passer friendly hands and is a willing passer. As a matter of fact, we honestly believe Mack is underrated as a passer. He has terrific court vision and is very unselfish. He takes shots within the offense and rarely tries to force the action. More importantly, Mack is an outstanding young man. He’s a willing listener and is so coachable which will translate well at the next level.
