After checking at Catawba College on Wednesday, we headed just about 30 minutes down the road to check in on Mooresville high school.  It is a program led by Coach Moore and is one that continues to put in the work to get better each year.  When watching this team during practice, you can see that they are going to have some nice pieces this year in hopes of making some noise.  Check out who we saw on the court in our latest open gym report.

When you talk about Mooresville, you have to start with 2022 KC Shaw.  Shaw led the team in scoring and should do so again, as the senior brings great size and length at his position, displays nice athleticism and ability to finish at the rim, and can operate and play multiple positions on the court.  He has continued to get better each season and with his IQ, feel, skillset, and ability to lead the team, expect him to have a big year.

People also need to watch out for 2024 AJ Parsley, who comes from Langtree.  Parsley is a terrific point guard, one that plays with poise, confidence, and has that natural floor general mentality that you love to see.  He plays with such an unselfish feel for the game, finding teammates in the right position, and seeing the floor at a high level.  Parsley is going to really help this team in an array of ways.  I also liked what I saw out of 2022 Christian Herring, a strong stretch 4 type prospect that plays with a physical feel, can step out and knock down shots, and finishes well around the rim.

2022 Kawarn Howell should also see more time as a senior, as he showcased his ability to play well on and off the ball, get to his spots for his jumper, but also display a little athleticism and ability to create for himself. 2022 Dane Stewart is one that will be able to bring quickness and be explosive on the court, as well as be a really good on-ball defender. One other senior to watch is Luke Kennedy, who knocked down shots and understands his role on the team while playing hard on both ends.

Mooresville will also have a few juniors to watch out for. 2023 Kyrell Shaw, who wasn
