6'4 2021 Silas Christie 'Ready for Big Senior Season'

Silas Christie was an All-Region and All State player for state champions Cardinal Newman. He averaged 12.8 PPG and 9.4 RPG. He is a two-year starter and hopes to lead Cardinal Newman to back to back state championships. Currently, he is receiving interest from Alabama-Huntsville, Army, Charleston Southern, Georgia State, Lehigh, Lincoln Memorial and Miles.

Coach Philip Deter stated, 'Christie is a long, strong, and athletic wing that really attacks offensive and defensive board. He averaged a near 'double double' this past season. He has really worked hard on his shot along with his range. Christie has become a three-level scorer with a post-up game as well.' We've had ample opportunities to watch Christie, both in team and camp settings and each time we came away impressed. At the Carmel Christian MLK Showcase, we wrote the following. 'Christie's energy on the floor was outstanding for his team.  He was aggressive on the boards, seemingly always around the ball and on the glass, as well as finishing on the offensive end.  He made a lot of 'team' plays and loved the motor he brings once he steps on the floor.'

We have always been impressed with his two-way impact. Rarely, does a player make such an impact on both ends of the court, but that is the case in point for Christie. More importantly, Christie brings a high motor and consistency to every game. He rebounds extremely well for his position and has natural instincts that allows him to be so productive. At last year's SC Top 80, we wrote the following. 'Silas was a calming presence and great team player throughout the day. He led by example in the way he carries himself and played the right way. Silas is a high-level defender, both on and off the ball. He touched the paint well and made the right decision often.'
