6′ Mack Jordan (Charlotte Royals/Charlotte Catholic)

Jordan was arguably the most polished guard prospect in the 14u division this weekend. He consistently displayed great court vision and playmaking instincts while also being an efficient, low-maintenance scoring threat. What stood out immediately about Jordan was his ability and willingness to make hit ahead passes in transition which is something that you rarely see done at the HS level, much less in 14u. On top of that, he’s very precise with his timing and placement of passes, using fakes, jabs, and jumps to throw defenses off balance and create even more of an advantage for his teammates. He’s also a quality shooting and finishing threat who doesn’t force his looks but punishes defenses when left unattended. Looking forward, Jordan has the ability to contribute early for Charlotte Catholic as his mature and reliable play style should translate smoothly to the varsity level.

6’6″ Grant Duggins (CP3BA Russell/Greensboro Day)

Greensboro Day seems to have intriguing prospects in almost every class and 2028 is no exception thanks to big man Grant Duggins. Duggins has intriguing physical tools thanks to his lanky 6’6″ frame and relative fluidity. He has a projectable frame and is already comfortable producing within his role. He’s a strong finisher around the basket, displaying good footwork and touch while not shying away from contact. He rebounded the ball well on both ends, proving to have a nose for the ball. He showed flashes of ball skills, specifically as a catch and shoot threat and as a ball handler in the open court. These flashes, combined with his current production and projectable frame leave a lot of room to be excited about Duggins’ future upside.

6’4″ Julian Tweedy (Carolina Waves/Cary Academy)

Tweedy is the next talented forward in line at Cary Academy, following 2024 Wyatt DeGraaf (Brown commit) and 2026 Aidan Rousseau. He has a long, wiry, and projectable frame and he moves relatively fluidly for a player his age and size. He’s comfortable with the ball in his hands, able to start the break by himself and make quality reads in the open court. He has good instincts on the glass, able to carve out position for himself and compete for rebounds at a high level. He has solid touch around the rim and makes a living off quick post-ups and put backs. There were flashes of future shooting development shown this weekend, mainly in his fluidity and comfort level in taking C&S and movement threes and converting at the free throw line. While bigs naturally develop slower, Tweedy has all of the tools to become a highly regarded prospect and his development will be tracked closely over the next few years.

6’6″ Jamel McKinley (Middleton Elite/Fort Dorchester)

McKinley is an incredibly intriguing prospect on just his physical tools alone, but the flashes of skill and IQ are what makes him a name to learn. He’s 6’6″ with impressive length, mobility, and coordination. He’s a savvy rim protector and rebounder who displays good instincts and a nose for the ball. He’s a quality finisher around the rim and showed encouraging flashes as a shooter, specifically from the free throw line. He’s still seemingly far away from his ceiling and, given his physical tools and relative floor of production, there’s a lot of reason to be excited about McKinley as a prospect.

5’9″ Semaj Parker (Palmetto Pride/Wilson)

Parker shined as a dynamic combo guard for a scrappy and well-coached Palmetto Pride team. He led them to a 3-1 record while displaying a ton of intriguing qualities. He’s very quick with the ball in his hands and knows how to leverage that speed in the open court. He can stop and start on a dime and uses that to create shots for himself, both at the rim and in the mid-range. He has solid playmaking instincts and knows where and when to make the extra pass. His length, quickness, toughness, and general basketball IQ make him a rugged defender at the point-of-attack, something that should only grow stronger as he adds weight to his projectable frame. Parker will be an intriguing prospect to monitor over the next four years at growing SC powerhouse, Wilson.
