Continuing to watch players out in California at the SoCal League, there was a young prospect getting a chance to shine once again on the big stage with several older prospects but he still was able to embrace the moment and shine in an array of ways.

2028 6’3 Carter Parker was a young prospect who really caught our eyes with his game and feel, especially as a player only in middle school playing against some of the premier talent in the state. When talking about Parker’s game, one can quickly realize his playmaking ability with the ball in his hands. He was able to showcase strong handles and a tremendous feel, attacked well out in transition and made good reads, used his size well to his advantage in a variety of ways, and knocked down shots from behind the arc but also scored in a variety of other ways with good instincts on the floor.

Phenom was able to catch up with Parker to get more about his thoughts on his game.

Game Description:

“My game is a combo guard who creates around the rim and has unlimited range from three.  My strengths on the court are my ability to finish above the rim. I’ve been told I’m like a young Shaun Livingston, but I haven’t studied too much of his game.”

Playing at SoCal League:

“For me, it was motivating since I’m not in high school yet since I’m only in 8th grade. I got the opportunity to show my skills against some of the top high school players in California.”

Parker will be playing this summer with Belmont Shore 16u and 17u, as he is a name to mark down and check out in the coming years.

*Side Note: Parker is the grandson of USC football All-American Artimus Parker, who won a championship in 1972, was an All-American in 1973, and played four seasons in the NFL.
