One of the top guards that is still open when it comes to his recruitment, 2024 Jaye Nash looks to be narrowing things down, learning more about programs, and is hoping to make a decision soon. Nash, a 6’2 guard at McEachern High School and ranked No. 162 nationally by 247 Sports, holds several offers already from several schools around the country and has recently taken visits.

What Has Been Said:

“I like what 2024 Jaye Nash brings to the table. Tough guard, quick and shifty, creates well for himself, really good feel in making the right reads, & can really mix it up with his offensive game. Going to be a nice piece this year. #PhenomMarchMadness”

Phenom Hoops caught up with Nash to discuss the latest around him, including his latest visit to Florida State and what kind of relationship he has developed with them, along with an upcoming visit to an SEC program and more.

Phenom: How has everything been going this season for you and your team? What has been your focus?
Nash: Everything has been great this season. We’ve done well as a team, and I think I’ve played well myself. I’ve been putting in a lot of work to get better and prepare myself for the next level but more importantly, we’ve had an awesome year so far as a team. I have an amazing coach and some awesome teammates. My focus has been on being a leader, winning games, and continuing to show that I can lead a team.

Phenom: How has your recruitment been and what has been the latest?
Nash: Everything has been good. I’ve been hearing from quite a few coaches. I probably hear from Florida State and Missouri right now more than anyone here lately. I’ve also heard from Utah, USC (California), USC (South Carolina), UCSB, and Loyola Chicago.

I recently visited Florida State for their Duke game and I really enjoyed it. I did a film session with Coach Jones and Coach Smith; Coach Jones is very knowledgeable. Coach Smith was really cool, he likes the way I play the point guard position. I’ve known Coach Jones since my freshman year, and he’s a really nice guy. I liked how they picked up full court and the intensity that they played with.

Phenom: How has that relationship been with FSU? And where might they stand in your eyes? Did that visit help with anything for you?
Nash: The relationship with FSU has been great. I’ve known Coach Jones for a while. Coach Smith is super cool, and we just connect well. Coach Ham is a legend and someone I can see myself playing for. It was good to see their style of play close up, talk to coaches, and be around them, and just connect with them. Florida State is a nice and big campus.

Phenom: What other places do you have planned to visit?
Nash: As of right now, I plan on visiting Missouri with the hopes of finalizing a decision sometime soon. My focus right now is finishing out this season strong and winning a state championship.

Phenom: Do you have a list of top schools or a timeline of when you will decide?
Nash: I’m just praying about and talking to my family. I don’t have a specific timeline but much sooner than later.
