It is that time of the year when players start catching the eyes of college coaches around the country and it is always exciting for a player to get their first offer after their strong play during the LIVE period. That is what happened with 2024 6'5 Will Moore from the Atlanta Timberwolves, as he added his first five offers in the month of April.

Tulane, Alabama, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech, and Ohio all offered towards the end of the month after getting a chance to watch the shooting guard in action.  Phenom Hoops recently spoke to him about his excitement of earning his first few offers.

Phenom: What was it like to earn that first offer from Ohio not long ago' How exciting was that for you'
Moore: Man, to be honest, I was emotional.  I have worked so hard and there is still so much work to do.  But yeah, I was in shock at first. Was not expecting it.

Phenom: Wanted to ask you about your thoughts on the offers from Ohio, Tennessee Tech, Tulane, and South Alabama… anything stand out to you about those schools early on'
Moore: I just really appreciate how Ohio has shown interest.  They have made it a priority to stick with me with the NCAA rules while still answering my calls and showing interest.  As far as the others, when I got offered, they were nice to me and let me know that if I needed anything, they would be there.  Can't wait to meet some of these coaches soon.

Phenom: Alabama was a big offer. What was that like and what stands out about that program'
Moore: Man, I was really surprised. Obviously, I can't play with those guys right now, but the coach said he saw a lot of potential in me. Even if I didn't get offered, hearing those words lit a fire under me. And I am so ready to succeed some expectations. I am planning a visit soon.

Phenom: You mentioned you have been receiving interest from some schools. Who would you say has been staying strong with you early on'
Moore: Indiana made it clear that they were interested and wanted to watch me play and have me up soon. I have been talking to Lipscomb, Western Carolina, and Cincinnati weekly. Clemson also said they would like to have me up sometime this summer.

Phenom: Any visits you have planned'
Moore: I'm going to Colorado this summer for the elite camp.  They said they can show me around. I'm looking forward to it because Colorado and Colorado State are a couple of my dream schools.

Phenom: What makes them a few of your dream schools'
Moore: I was born in Colorado, and I've always wanted to move back there. Obviously, I would choose the school that best fits me and where I am trying to end up, but any Colorado school has my full interest.

GAME DESCRIPTION:

Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Moore: I would say I have developed a mindset on the court that sets me apart from my opponents.  I feel like I am someone you can't leave open, but you can't close out too quickly on.  I've learned to develop my game by playing up all my life.  I used to be short playing against tall kids, so I had to learn how to have a quick handle and finish at the rim.  Now that I've developed physically, I'm getting a chance to combine what I've grown up doing with what being 6'5 comes with.  It is really fun playing above the rim too.  Recently, my coach has expressed the important of the 'one more' pass.  I have been working on finding the open guy in transition.
